Pediatric Hospitalists

Melissa Asgaonkar, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Asgaonkar received her medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She completed her pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and practiced for several years in Louisville, KY before moving to South Bend. She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the Section of Hospital Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Asgaonkar enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

Kate Dutkiewicz, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Kate Dutkiewicz is a native of Niles, MI, and attended Goshen College in Goshen, IN. She completed medical school at Indiana University, and residency in pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Dutkiewicz is board-certified in pediatrics and enjoys working with acutely ill children in the hospital setting. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and two small children.

George Maher, D.O., FAAP, FACOP

Dr. Maher received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and his medical degree from The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (Midwestern University). Postgraduate training included a pediatric residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. In addition to responsibilities as a Pediatric Hospitalist, he is also a board-certified Pediatric Hematology Oncologist.

Betsy E. Rossow, M.D., FAAP

Betsy E. Rossow, M.D. grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She attended Indiana University for both undergraduate education and medical school. She completed her Pediatrics Residency at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children.

Dr. Rossow is board-certified in Pediatrics. She has two small children. In her free time she enjoys reading, going on cruises for vacation, and spending time with her family.
