 Beacon Health System’s Memorial Hospital has received a new MedFlight helicopter that became operational June 1. The new Eurocopter EC145 replaces the original helicopter that was in operation since 2006 and conducted more than 1,600 transports.

In honor of National Women's Health Week, Memorial Hospital of South Bend announced its participation in the 2013 Text4baby State Enrollment Contest, a national competition to provide pregnant and new moms with important information they need for their health and that of their babies.

The League of American Bicyclists recognized Memorial Hospital with a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award for leading America toward a greener future. 

HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum will partner with Whole Foods Market’s “Whole Kids Club” for a special event aimed at promoting healthy eating and fitness for children. It will take place May 19 from noon to 4 p.m. at the new Whole Foods Market in Mishawaka.

A new website and dashboard with data from the 2013 St. Joseph County Community Health Needs Assessment Survey will be made available on Thursday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pfeil Innovation Center, 420 N. Niles Avenue. 

Mark Wellman, who made history as the first paraplegic to ascend the 3,000-foot El Capitan and Half Dome at Yosemite National Park, will offer a free presentation on Thursday, May 9 from noon to 1 p.m. at Memorial Hospital's auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
