Pinwheel Umbrella Opening Celebration in Downtown South Bend

South Bend, Ind. — A new partnership between Memorial Children’s Hospital, Downtown South Bend, and the Morris Performing Arts Center is aimed at supporting the great work taking place in downtown South Bend and bolstering pride and engagement in the community.

As part of Memorial Regional Cancer Center’s sponsorship of Fridays by the Fountain, and with additional funding by Downtown South Bend, six new umbrellas will feature the iconic pinwheel design of the children’s hospital logo, and will be placed on the outdoor tables outside the Morris Performing Arts Center throughout the summer. The new umbrellas will raise community awareness of Memorial Children's Hospital and add a splash of color and fun to the Fountain terrace all summer long.

“We are always excited to work with our partners in the downtown South Bend community,” says Maggie Scroope, Manager of Media and Community Relations for Beacon Health System. “It’s so important that we all to support each other as we all work in our own ways to improve quality of life in our community.”
