Mayor Buttigieg and Memorial Hospital President Kreg Gruber to Kick-Off "Passport to Play!"

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Memorial Hospital President Kreg Gruber will help kick-off a new communitywide Passport to Play! program, and celebrate Memorial's HealthWorks! Kids' Museum's recent designation as a Good to Grow! museum by the Association of Children's Museums.

Sunday, March 17
2:30 p.m.

HealthWorks! Kids' Museum
111 W. Jefferson Blvd.

HealthWorks! is the first children’s museum in Indiana and only the eighth in the United States to earn this designation. Good to Grow! is a nationwide initiative that brings together community partners who want to improve the health of kids and families.

To celebrate this designation, HealthWorks! has partnered with the South Bend Parks and Recreation Department, the Reducing Obesity Coalition of St. Joseph County, and the Center for the Homeless to develop a FREE summer-long Passport to Play! program.

Passport to Play is a community wide effort that encourages outdoor activities, exercise and healthy eating. Each month the group will host a two-hour program at various venues in the community, and a stamped passport from each month will allow the family with the most stamps to win free prizes. The adventure begins March 17 and features monthly explorations from April to September, with each event taking place at a South Bend park.
