Memorial Hospital Sponsors 2011 Expo for Women Featuring Special Guest Josh Morrow, ‘Nick Newman’ from ‘The Young and the Restless’


Feb. 28, 2011 – As the health sponsor of the 2011 Expo for Women, Memorial Hospital will offer a number of FREE health screenings, including free breast exams by the doctors and nurses of Memorial Regional Breast Care Center at the Memorial Health Pavilion. This year’s show will take place at the Century Center in downtown South Bend. Memorial’s Pavilion will be open at the following times:
Friday, March 4 from 4 – 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Other FREE services at the Memorial Health Pavilion will include: blood pressure and blood glucose testing, adult and pediatric BMI testing, foot screenings, ABI screenings (to look for blockages in arteries of the legs), one-on-one consultations with a physical therapist, and consultations with a nurse. Other services include Memorial Home Care, Mar-Main Pharmacy and What’s My Risk? online health assessments.
Dr. Daniel Howell, author of “The Barefoot Book,” will talk about how a woman’s feet can impact many aspects of her health and well-being. The “Exceptional Husbands Guide to Foot Massage” will round-up his talk.
As part of Memorial’s sponsorship, special guest Josh Morrow, who has played ‘Nick Newman’ on The Young and the Restless since 1994, will present the 2011 Spirit of Women Awards at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 5 on the Century Center stage, followed by a meet-and-greet and autograph session at Memorial Health Pavilion.
The Spirit of Women Awards program honors ordinary women who do extraordinary things to benefit their community. This year, Memorial will honor the following women for their achievements: Kim Becker – Community Hero; Hannah Montgomery – Young Person Role Model; and Jill Ross – Healthcare Hero.
