Memorial Hospital Leads the Attack on Arterial Plaque

Memorial Hospital invites you to take important steps to protect your family against arterial plaque and cardiovascular disease during September, National Cholesterol Education Month. Cholesterol plaque can clog arteries and increase the incidence of cardiovascular disease and heart attack in women and men.

Visit www.WhatsMyRisk.org to take a FREE online health assessment. Those found to be at risk qualify for a FREE cholesterol lipid panel, blood sugar and vascular screening (carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm and ABI).

Cholesterol screenings are also available for a small fee at Memorial’s Health Discovery Center by calling 574-647-1801. The Health Discovery Center is located at 100 Navarre Place, suite 6670, and is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cardiovascular disease is a stealthy killer. According to the Centers for Disease Control, it takes 616,067 lives annually. Plaque in the arteries and high cholesterol are major risk factors that lead to cardiovascular disease. Memorial has the knowledge, tools and expertise to equip and motivate you to protect your family’s cardiovascular health now and in the future.

Plaque Attack is powered by Spirit of Women and presented locally by Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
