Protecting Our Seniors in Michiana conference brings professionals and the community together

SOUTH BEND – The Gerontology Consortium of Michiana will host their fifth annual gerontology conference on Thursday, May 31. The event – open to healthcare professionals, families, friends and the community – takes place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Vincent Hall on the Holy Cross College campus. The conference will explore a wide array of topics related to ways in which seniors can be protected from potential financial, emotional or physical abuse and neglect.

FREE Head & Neck Cancer Screening

More than 52,000 men and women in the U.S. were expected to be diagnosed with head and neck cancers in 2011, according to the National Cancer Institute. Early detection is when treatment is most successful. To help find cancers as early as possible, Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial’s Health Discovery Center will offer a free head and neck cancer screening.

Steven holds a B.A. in Business/Organizational Management from Bethel College and has extended studies in culinary preparation, sanitation, leadership, and nutrition from respected programs around the country. Steven most recently served on staff at Indiana University at South Bend and the University of Notre Dame.
