Pediatric Emergency Transport (PETS)

Memorial Children's Hospital’s pediatric-dedicated team is comprised of a registered nurse, a paramedic and a respiratory therapist, available to transport critically ill and/or injured children from referral hospitals in Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. This specialized team provides professional outreach and education services to outlying area hospitals and EMS departments, offering pediatric-based certification classes such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), as well as providing in-services and case reviews. The PETS team also collaborates with the MedFlight crew, offering pediatric nursing expertise for children under the age of 10 who require helicopter transport.
