Handling your care with expertise
Expertise
We offer a comprehensive team approach that includes regular Breast Forums, a time when health professionals from all areas of breast cancer treatment - radiologists, oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, nurses, technologists and therapists - come together to develop a cohesive plan of care. This high-quality, cost-effective method improves the quality of your medical treatment by bringing the best people and resources together in one place with your best interest in mind.
The Memorial Regional Breast Care Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. This designation is awarded only to facilities that have received accreditation by the American College of Radiology in stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, and by the ACR or an FDA-approved state accrediting body in mammography.
Nurse Navigator
Unique to this region, Memorial Regional Breast Care Center (MRBCC) has nurses with backgrounds in oncology to help women navigate through their diagnosis of breast cancer. The MRBCC nurse is available to talk with patients and their families in person or by phone about their personal diagnosis and what the next steps will be for the patients. The nurse navigator provides each newly diagnosed patient at Memorial Hospital an individualized Personal Care Planner. The nurse will follow up with patients as they go through their surgeries and treatments, providing them with educational information and emotional support.
