WOW!Project™ Approval Process
Step I: Champions generate ideas and funnels them down to one
a. You are the keeper of many good ideas, but decide where you should focus
b. Review the WOW!Projects™ Criteria sheet for help, if needed
c. Choose an idea that you're passionate about, so that you can be the idea evangelist!
Step 2: Review
idea with immediate supervisor
a. Share your idea with enthusiasm
b. Listen with openness
c. If you've attended a WOW!Projects™ session, have your supervisor
sign your WOW!Projects™ planner
Step 3: Pitch idea
to sponsor
a. Your sponsor may be different than your supervisor
b. Set up a meeting with your sponsor
c. Have your pitch and preliminary prototype with you
d. The goal is to obtain the commitment of the sponsor
Step 4: GO/NO Decision
a. Based on the feedback you've received, decide with your sponsor if
you should go forward with the idea
b. Remember, the idea may need modification before proceeding
c. Discuss funding, if needed, however, get creative on resources
Step 5: Track/Register
GO Ideas
a. If your idea is a GO, then register your idea on the website so that
it will be credited and tracked as a WOW!Project™
Step 6: Refine
Prototype and Business Case
a. Continue to refine your prototype and develop your business case including
metrics. Work quickly to keep your idea moving!
b. Ideas requiring funding may need additional steps to proceed
Step 7: GO/NO GO
Decision after Business Case
a. Continue to check the validity of your idea and business case with
sponsors and others
Step 8: Implement
your idea
a. Implement your idea and update the status on the website
b. Celebrate your progress
c. Move on to the next idea
