Midwife Services

Memorial Hospital of South Bend is proud to offer the region's only comprehensive nurse-midwifery program. Board certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), a nurse midwife is a registered nurse with additional training from an accredited midwifery program. In addition to providing personalized obstetric care, midwives offer primary health care services for women, including annual exams and birth control treatment.

Memorial Medical Group's four midwives work together within a medical team to provided safe, comprehensive and personalized care for pregnancy, labor, delivery and well-woman health care. Women receiving care from a midwife deliver in one of Memorial's spacious birthing suites equipped with whirlpool tubs, birthing balls and aromatherapy.

Consider using a nurse midwife if you are interested in:

  • Extra support in labor
  • A more holistic approach to pregnancy, labor and birth
  • Water birth
  • Birth with or without an epidural for pain relief
