Physicians

David Hornback, M.D., completed his Radiation Oncology residency at Indiana University in 1992.  Previously, Dr. Hornback received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1988 and completed his Internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis in 1989. Dr. Hornback's special interests include gynecological cancer, prostate cancer and brachtherapy treatment procedures. Dr. Hornback is specially trained in prostate seed implants and has successfully completed more than 150 cases at Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hornback has been practicing in Northern Indiana since 1992.

Sam McGrath, M.D., joined Memorial Radiation Oncology July 2010 after completing his Radiation Oncology Residency at William Beaumont Hospital. Previously, Dr. McGrath received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2005 and completed his Internship at William Beaumont in 2006. Dr. McGrath brings a vast knowledge of brachytherapy treatment techniques, having studied under several nationally renowned physicians. We are pleased to welcome Dr. McGrath to Northern Indiana. 

Radiation Therapists

Radiation therapists work with radiation oncologists to simulate and deliver the daily radiation treatments. They maintain accurate daily records of each therapy and perform daily quality assurance checks on the linear accelerators. Memorial Radiation Therapists are all nationally certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed in the state of Indiana.   

Physicists

Memorial's Radiation Physicists oversee the work of the dosimetrist and help ensure that complex treatments are properly planned and delivered to each patient. Our physicists are responsible for developing and directing quality control programs for equipment and procedures. They are responsible for ensuring the equipment works properly. On a routine basis, our physicists precisely measure and study the radiation beam's characteristics to verify accuracy and safety. 

Dosimetrists

Working under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Dosimetrists carefully develop each patient's unique treatment plan. They develop plans that can best destroy the tumor while sparing the normal, healthy tissues. Many of these treatment plans are very complex. Dosimetrists work with the doctor and the medical physicist to choose the treatment plan that is just right for each patient. Memorial's dosimetrists are Certified Medical Dosimetrists. 

Nurses

ROC's Nurses work with the radiation team to care for patients during the course of treatment. They help evaluate the patient before treatment begins. They educate each patient about potential side effects and their management. During the course of radiation treatments, patients may be evaluated weekly, or more frequently by the nurse to assess problems and concerns.

Support Staff

Front office staff, transcription and billing representative all play crucial roles in providing outstanding patient care. The tremendous contributions of these Team Members are appreciated by all.
