Inpatient Oncology Unit
If you need to be hospitalized for medical oncology, your care will take place on the 10th floor at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. To access the inpatient oncology care center, just follow the purple wall lines to elevator C.
Memorial Hospital’s Hematology/Oncology Care Center is a 21-bed inpatient/outpatient intermediate care unit. We are a patient- focused care unit, which means we attempt to bring many of our services and experts right to your room. Our services include: pain and symptom management, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, pre and post care of bone marrow transplant patients, blood product transfusions and other supportive therapies. We offer a variety of ancillary services free of charge, including massage, healing touch and spiritual care. Along with your physician, we have a multidisciplinary team to assist in managing your care, including a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), oncology clinician (pharmacist specialized in oncology), dietitian and social worker. Our mission is to provide the highest quality care and exceptional experience to our patients and families through a patient-focused multidisciplinary approach.
